Pacific Kevlar Shell Helmet

Pacific Kevlar Shell Helmet

The PASGT combat helmet that replaced the M1, used by American troops since the Second World War, has 29 layers of Kevlar in its shell and is capable of providing protection from shrapnel and ballistic threats. The new material has proven quite effective that even the later replacements of the PASGT helmet continue to use it as a primary shell component.

It was thus a matter of time before Kevlar would be put to use in civilian application helmets. Among them is the Pacific Kevlar Shell Helmet.

The name Kevlar is actually a trademark for a light yet strong para-aramid synthetic fiber. Given the same weight, it has five times the strength of steel. It is thus quite comfortable to wear and some users swear that sometimes they forget they are wearing it.

The Pacific Kevlar Shell Helmet features a 6-point ratchet suspension and 3-point chin strap adjustments. These contribute to the comfort of wearing it as they allow for a snug fit that is neither too tight nor too loose.

It also has a visor that keeps the sun out of your eyes; as well as branches, twigs, and leaves from falling into your face. Additional protection is made available through slots that can accommodate a face protection screen and protective ear muffs.

The helmet is finished with a high-gloss paint and is available in yellow, orange, or white.
