As all climbers know, the best helmets are lightweight, well-ventilated, compact, durable, and comfortable. The Kask Plasma Climbing Helmet appears to be all of the above.
Weighing in at only 350 grams, it is easy to forget that you are actually wearing a helmet. With its 10 air intakes, air flow is almost unrestricted keeping your head cool and minimizing sweating even in hot weather.
A soft polyethylene headband hugs the head snugly and securely as it can be adjusted with a wheel that is located at the back of the head. The headband is firmly affixed to the external shell but it does not utilize rivets. The adjusting wheel is equipped with a rubber grip making it easy to manipulate even while wearing gloves.
The outer shell of the Kask Plasma is fabricated out of shock-resistant polypropylene. Additionally, it also resists acids, bases, and many chemical solvents. Lining the inner side of the polypropylene shell is a high-density polystyrene foam that absorbs impacts and blows to the outer shell that would otherwise be passed on to your head. It has ducts allowing the entry of air from the vents on the external shell.
Wrapping both the head band and the polystyrene foam is a fabric that resists odors, wicks moisture, and is not allergenic. This is removable and washable either by hand or in a washing machine at 30°C.
The helmet is secured by a chin strap with four fastening points keeping it in place even in case of a fall. Side retractors made of soft polyethylene allows adjustment of the straps. Fastening and unlocking is made easy by the helmet’s safety release system.
Lamp-carrying clips are incorporated in the Kask Plasma Climbing Helmet. These are made of Nylon 6.6 and are compatible with most external lamps available. A red ring is also included in the chin straps to be used when attaching the helmet to your harness.
The helmet comes in White, Ochre, Red, Blue, Green, Grey, Azure, and Yellow.
